Snow globe lovers, rejoice! Here’s a fun DIY snow globe craft. The best part about it is that the toy inside can be replaced for a whole new look!

Last summer, we flew across the country to visit family. One of our flights was delayed for hours and to keep the kids busy we visited every gift shop in the airport. My daughter fell in love with all the snow globes she saw in the gift shops. She spent a great deal of time gently shaking them over and over.
With two kids and three dogs, our house really isn’t a safe place for fragile snow globes! Rather than buying one and waiting for it to break, we decided to make one from things we already had in our home- so easy and cheap!
I used a baby food jar, a hot glue gun, a tiny toy and some glitter to make a snow globe that my daughter loves! I love that it’s not a big investment, so it’s not a big deal if it gets dropped.
How to make your own DIY snow globe.
First, wash out a small jar (we used a baby food jar). You can paint the lid if you want, we painted ours black.
Next, glue any small toy on the inside of the lid. Be sure to give your glue time to dry! I used my hot glue gun and gave the glue about 30 minutes to set.

Finally, put 1-2 tablespoons of glitter into the bottom of the jar and fill almost to the top with water. Screw the lid on and you are done! This craft is insanely easy and quick!
I love that my daughter’s small toys are now safely tucked into snow globes (instead of littered all over her floor) and she loves shaking and admiring her creations.

The best part? If she gets tired of the snow globes it is really easy to get them out of the snow globe since hot glue isn’t permanent!
