“Mom, what’s for dinner?”
“Can I have a snack?”
“I’m staaaarrving!”
I know you’ve heard at least one of these phrases from your child after a long day of school.
Does this sound familiar? Kid walks in, drops backpack and coat on floor, walks straight into the kitchen and opens the refrigerator door and stands there scanning for any morsel of food to devour.
Yep, I thought so.
While they sometimes can be a bit dramatic (really? you’re starving?), there is some merit to the idea that they are pretty hungry when they get home from school. If lunch was 3-4 hours ago, then at the very least they are going to be looking for a hearty snack to tide them over until dinner is ready.
Before they go reaching for the pre-packaged cookies, save the day with these delicious cheesy pizza crescent rollups. They are hearty enough to satisfy the hungriest tummy, but still light enough to not spoil dinner when it’s time to eat again.
Kids will go crazy for the ooey-gooey cheesy center, and what kid doesn’t like pepperoni?
The best part? They’re so easy to make that older kids can make these rollups themselves and it won’t take much time to whip them up for the younger kiddo’s after-school snack!

Cheesy Pizza Crescent Rollups Recipe
Ingredients:
1 tube crescent rolls (or 1 roll butter puff pastry)
8 cheese sticks (or 8 slices cheese)
150g package pepperoni
4 Tablespoon pizza sauce, optional

Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350F
Unroll the crescents and place the pepperoni in two rows along the bottom edge (the shortest side of the triangle).

Place the cheese stick on the bottom edge and roll the crescent around it.

Repeat with all crescents and bake for 8-10 minutes.
Serve while hot along side warmed pizza sauce for dipping.

*Note – It’s best to serve the pizza sauce on the side rather than adding it inside the crescents because it will get very HOT.
And there you have it. The perfect after-school snack for your hungry scholar.
Let us know how they turn out!
